Hosting on Airbnb: My Podcast Interview

IMG_2640I’ll publicly admit that have never been the biggest fan of Twitter. As a fast writer and an effusive talker, I’m not fond of its 140-character limitations per post, nor do I really care that someone missed their bus or ate Cheerios for breakfast.

My perspective changed last month when I had the pleasure of making a connection I probably would not have made otherwise with Jasper Ribbers, aka The Traveling Dutchman. Jasper has spent the past two years renting out his apartment in Amsterdam via Airbnb. Jasper’s income from the rental has helped fund his adventures around the world, and he’s now educating the masses on how they can become hosts and potentially realize their travel dreams as well. I had the pleasure of going to Amsterdam last December (pictured), and I know where I’ll be staying if I visit that stunning and saucy city again.

Via our connection on Twitter, Jasper asked if he and his business partner, Huzefa Kapadia, could interview me for their new podcast series and ask me questions about my experience as an Airbnb host. I was honored to have an opportunity to share tips and insight, and the gentlemen were kind enough to also let me plug my book. Who could say no to that?

So, my love of Twitter is steadily growing. Jasper and Huzefa are also authors, and their book, “Get Paid for Your Pad,” will be available at the end of the month. I’ll be checking it out and I hope you will too!

I think I sound like a teenager on the phone. Listen for yourself and let me know what you think. You can also tell me via Twitter, if you’d like. I’m warming up to it, honest.

Thanks for being here.
